One day, my great-grandchildren will read my notes

What's more: Hospitality and Busy Weeks

Busy Weeks

The last three weeks were tough. It’s probably the busiest I have been in 2023. New clients, a few one-time gigs, more games, more socialization, and hardly any rest.

Over this, there was the guilt of not allowing myself to have enough me-time and not spending enough time with my close friends.

I wasn’t listening to music or watching any movies. Nor was I watering the plants or going for a drive. Everything happened in a blink; I couldn’t process my actions.

I’m happy things are back to normal now.

Fun Fact: I slept for seven hours straight after a long time—and boy, did I miss sleep!

Finally, when all this was done, I visited Birla Mandir. I’m not usually a temple person, but Birla Mandir is one temple I keep visiting. I like the vibe, simplicity, and peace here, especially in the evenings.

Soon after Birla Mandir, I headed to Pragathi to have my breakfast. With 40 years of history, it’s one of the decent places to have dosa in Hyderabad.

Legacy

I give a lot of thought to ‘What happens after I die?’

It convinced me to believe I (if not all of us) should write more personal stories. I should document my life—whether I publish it or not.

The reason is maybe 60-70 years from now, I want my family, my great-grandchildren, and the generations following them to read words written by me. DIRECTLY.

I don’t want my grandchildren narrating my stories to them. Although I love the idea of it, the fact is stories dilute with time. And I don’t want my great-grandchildren to listen to half-baked stories.

If they want to read where I traveled to, it’s there. If they want to read how I lived my life, it’s there. If they want to read about their great-grandmother, it will be there.

Because I document my life. That’s me leaving my legacy to my family.

Hospitality

I am a huge proponent of Hospitality. I want to treat guests well, give them my complete attention, and help them have memorable experiences.

I don’t know why, but I am particular about it.

Even when my friends from other states visit Hyderabad, I make sure that I drive them around, explain the history to them, give them the best food, and I don’t even want them to spend a single penny.

Sometimes when the budget goes overboard, we split, but if it’s within what I can afford: You’re not spending a single penny when you’re with me in my city.

What’s coming:

I’ll be in Pune from June 27th-30th.

If you happen to be in or around Pune, drop me a message. We’ll hang out.

I’m gonna experiment with something special and different next week. Will share details this weekend.

Vikra, Signing off.
