Fixing my life in 30 days: Day 4

Not the day I wanted but the day I needed

Today was lazy, gloomy and moody. I think it’s for good.

If I was feeling as normal as daily, I might have overworked myself and found it hard to manage my workload the entire week.

What I love about it, though, is how the rest was conscious and guilt-free. I would have usually felt “I am wasting a lot of time.” But I am happy, I told myself, “It’s okay. Just take some rest.”

If you have noticed the email’s send time yesterday, you already know I slept late. I hope I get to wake up late one day, but unfortunately, the day hasn’t arrived yet (I miss the lockdown days when I used to wake up at 11 am.)

So I woke up around 6 am. Our cricket team won a tournament recently and we had prize distribution this morning at 7 am. I attended it (a little late) and got back home by 9.

Followed by a simple bread omelette for breakfast, along with three episodes of Young Sheldon, two Rahul Subramanian standups, and thirty minutes of Nikhil Kamath’s podcast on Venture Capital.

Then, I needed to help my mom with a family thing. It took forty minutes or so.

Thought I’d do some reading but was not really in the mood for it. Soon I decided it’s gonna be a rest day (also considering our gym is off on Sundays.)

I took an afternoon nap—not as fulfilling as I’d have liked it but okay.

Despite the day being a little boring and unproductive, I did squeeze out some energy for some operations and backend work.

Ready for highlights of the day?

  • Spoke to Aditi for ninety minutes. It’s been a while since we spoke, so we were catching up on different things and discussing an interesting project I’m coming up with in January (will disclose details soon)

  • I have only a little client work scheduled for December and I am already done with most of it. There are a few meetings and strategy kinda calls, only with a bit of writing. Meaning: I have a lot of time to work on content—which is exactly what I am doing. The amount of creation I am doing is insane, and these will lay the perfect foundation for 2024 if executed right. I plan to slow down from January and focus more on making money for and from my clients

  • It’s three days in a row my dad made some excellent coffee. I have no idea what he changed, and I don’t intend to ask him and make him conscious about it

  • I had a bunch of unread emails from my readers and I have had some really good conversations with them today. If you’re new or if you have not emailed me yet, it’s high time you reply to this email. I’d love to know you

  • On the other hand, if you’re building any kind of content business—I URGE YOU TO TALK TO YOUR AUDIENCE REGULARLY. I don’t want to explain why. I want you to discover it yourself

  • Also, I have cold DMed some potential subs for Cognition. We have been focusing on speed and acquiring new readers, so I am personally reaching out to relevant people and asking if they’re interested in a content-marketing-related-newsletter. So far, the responses have been great

  • The Hibiscus flowers from my mom’s garden are just too beautiful.

I have some meetings and a lot of content scheduled for this week. I am also planning to get in touch with a few people (I have been procrastinating this for a while.) I’ll plan around this before I sleep today.

I have my practice resuming tomorrow morning. I am gonna sleep within 30 minutes of sending this email.

I hope you’re having a good Sunday. If yes, I am really happy for you. If not, I am just an email away.

Good night!!
