Fixing my life in 30 days: Day 10

200 kms away from home

Just in case you missed the last 10 times I mentioned this: It doesn’t matter how late I sleep, I always wake up between 6-7 AM. I really wish I could wake up late.

I slept around 4:04 in the morning. Thought I wouldn’t wake up till 8:30 for SURE.

…and no prizes for guessing who was brushing his teeth at 6:41 AM.

My grandmother fell ill (she’s okay now and nothing serious), so we had to visit her to check if she was okay.

It’s been a long time since I visited my village; I think the last time was in early 2023. I don’t visit my village as often as I used to do in my childhood, but there are a few things I like better here:

  • lots of home food

  • better air

  • clearer sky; I can actually see many many stars

  • for some reason, there are many kinds of birds

  • rice fields

  • and we have lots of monkeys here

We started to our grandma’s place in the afternoon.

But in the morning (with two hours of sleep), I managed to send some pitches to prospects, replies to all the readers, and DMs to a few profiles asking if they’re interested in subscribing to Cognition and a lot of other small operational tasks, taking around 10-15 minutes each.

As I didn’t have enough sleep, I asked Dad to drive. But one hour in, I got bored sitting in the car, and I couldn’t sleep either. So I took the wheel and drove for the next three hours.

I shouldn’t have done that.

I was okay while I drove, but I am too tired, sleepy, and again, writing this in a semi-conscious state.

I spent most time after reaching here with the family, and post dinner, I took a meeting, spoke to a friend, and worked on the copy of my new website.

If all goes well, I will be back in Hyderabad by tomorrow night.

+ I had a match today and dropped out at the last minute. I was looking forward to it and was well prepared.

Happy with the amount of penny tasks I finished today, considering the limited time I had and my fatigue.

Luckily, I can sleep as much as I want.
