Fixing my life in 30 days: Day 1

Great day but lacks satisfaction

I hate my tricky relationship with workouts.

I have realized over the years my satisfaction levels depend on workouts. I can have an average day, but if I workout, I will be satisfied. Conversely, I might have a wonderful day in all aspects, but I’ll have this big guilt of not doing enough (or the right things) if I don’t workout.

I feel relaxed, confident, and can check out myself longer in the mirror every time I exercise. I feel more balanced with work and relationships.

Strangely, all this is not good enough to incentivize me to break some sweat.

Anyway…

Ngl, today I performed beyond my energy.

Was I able to achieve all that I wanted to? No
Did I do all I can? Yes

That’s good enough for a start.

I had a really bad sleep.

I have only slept for three hours—was in bed by 1 am but had to wake up at 4 am to drop my dad at election duty (it’s state assembly elections in Telangana today.)

I was back home by 4:40 and couldn’t get back to sleep. But I didn’t feel any fatigue throughout the day. But right now, I am dead. I am just gonna hit send and sleep.

Amidst all this, I pulled off a good day:

  • Night rides, empty roads, and music—the trio I’d give up my sleep for on any day. It’s been a while; I felt good driving this morning

  • It’s election day. I voted

  • Worked on my content: a few guest posts for Cognition, a breakdown of popular brand copies on Twitter, and some social media hopping

  • Cleaned my workspace. Proud

  • Tried sleeping, didn’t work

  • Had a long-awaited call with Aanchal after years. It ended up being a 3-hour Gmeet. One of the best calls of 2023

  • Spent an hour or so with my friend

  • Two hours reading and consuming content

  • 70 minutes of client work

  • 4 episodes of Young Sheldon

What could have made my day better:

  • At least 30 minutes of home workout (gym was closed because of elections.) I won’t be going to my cricket practice until Monday, so gym is all I’ve got in the next three days.

  • Spent some time pitching the leads. I have shared my portfolio with a few to forward it to people who they know, but I know that’s not good enough.

Biggest win is not eating outside food. All my meals today have been homemade and it happened after ~45 days. My satisfaction after resisting cravings >>>

I have an idea to compartmentalize the multiple hats I wear. This might bring more organization and flow to my systems.

More on this tomorrow.

Until then, some pictures from today:

ok byeeeee

Got some client work to begin my day with, then workout, followed by content. Bless meeeeee
